Abstract

Distributed time synchronization technology is critical for wireless sensor networks（WSNs） operations

security is crucial to the success of time synchronization. For heterogeneous networks deployed in hostile environments

a secure and efficient time synchronization scheme is proposed for heterogeneous WSNs by utilizing powerful advanced sensors. The synchronization scheme is implemented in Tmote sensor nodes

and the experiments show that the scheme achieves higher synchronization accuracy than a popular sensor time synchronization scheme

more resists to various attacks and reduces communication overhead.
