Abstract

Aimed at the long continuous monitoring and high cost of our current forest fire remote monitoring

an embedded system for forest fire detection and alarm based on Linux and AT91RM9200 is presented. The embedded processor processes the video image from the forest monitoring camera.Using image enhancement methods

image color information and blink frequency characteristics are extracted.Use of fire video image recognition algorithm determines whether the frame containing the fire flame

it can then sent the fire information to the monitoring center by wireless network for further processing only when potential abnormity really occurres.
