The electronic system of polarization grating navigation sensor utilizes a new architecture of hardwaresoftware which adapts to real-time image processing of all-sky polarization information
which has higher resolution and precision. In order to verify feasibility of this new architecture
and provide platform
for research on algorithm for navigation information extraction from image
a design scheme for electronic system of sensor is proposed
on the basis of interpretating its principle for polarized light navigation. The electronic system is a system on a programmable chip(SOPC) based on FPGA
which acquires preceeding stage polarized detecting image datas through Cameralink protocol
through hardware algorithm modules and Nios II CPU to calculate course bearing and send to upper computer through serial communication. The test indicates that the electronic system is able to achieve the task of polarized image acquisition and processing
and update rate and calculating precision of output datas is up to 20 Hz and prior to ± 0. 01° respectively
and it is convenient for algorithm verifying navigation information extraction from image in hardware circuit.
