In order to effectively balance energy consumption of nodes and to relieve energy-hole problem and prolong network life cycle in wireless sensor networks( WSNs)
a new energy-efficient uneven clustering routing protocol for WSNs is proposed. The core idea of the protocol is using an uneven clustering algorithm—BR-EEUC which combines with timing broadcast and cluster head rotation mechanism to clustering network
and according to cost function to choose a less costly cluster head as relay node
to form multi-hop routing in which sink node is used as root node
so energy cost is greatly reduced. The simulation experiment result on OMNet + + shows that
compared with LEACH and EEUC
BR-EEUC protocol effectively balance network energy consumption
