The use of Sink mobility in wireless sensor networks(WSNs) is commonly recognized as one of the most effective means of load balancing
ultimately leading to fewer failed nodes and longer network lifetime. When it comes to the use of mobile Sink in real-world WSNs
fixed Sink strategy is the most likely deployment model and network topology will be directly affected by routing depth. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive evaluation of four typical fixed Sink strategies under different routing depth. The evaluation of the surveyed techniques is based on the traditional performance metrics(energy consumption
network lifetime
delay).Simulation results show that in smaller routing depth
the outer-periphery strategy is better to reduce the node energy consumption and prolong the network lifetime and the inner-periphery strategy can obtain better coverage and lower delay.
