Abstract
Aiming at problems of too much redundant data and non-balanced energy consumption in minimum hop routing protocol
an improved minimum hop routing protocol for wireless sensor networks is proposed.Snooping mechanism is introduced into the protocol in order to establish the transmission path in the network. In addition
a newly energy balancing strategy is adopted to deal with the excessive energy consumption in key nodes so that the lifetime of the sensor networks can be prolonged.Wireless sensor networks simulation platform based on independent research and development is used to simulate
the minimum hop routing protocol and the performance of the improved protocol is compared.Experimental results indicate that improved protocol attributes to balance network energy consumption to a large extent
improve network energy efficiency and extending the network lifetime.
