A novel film airflow-thermoelectric generator(TEG) is designed by utilizing the thermoelectric characteristic of carbon nanotube(CNT) film. When the thermal gas flows over the surface of CNT film
temperature gradient is generated in the material plane. The heat energy is directly converted to the electric energy by Seebeck effect. The highly conducting
transparent CNT film is synthesized by the floating catalytic chemical vapor deposition. The experimental model of airflow-TEG is established and the output voltage is measured. The experiment show that the output voltage of airflow-TEG is larger than the one of the conventional TEG driven by the immovable heat source. The multi-physical coupling power mechanism is put forward to explain the experimental results
which include the fluid dynamics
fluid-solid coupling heat exchange and thermoelectric effect. The CNT film airflow-TEG can be easily processed and integrated
and can solve the problem of power supply for the micro-optical electro-mechanical system. So it has wide application prospect and practical value.
