On the basis of a full-scale introduction to the advancement of research on routing protocols for aeronautical Ad Hoc networks

aiming at the large scale and highly-dynamic aeronautical communication environment

the applicability of the greedy geographic routing protocol GPSR is evaluated.Simulation results show that when aircrafts move slowly

the GPSR protocol can be suitable for aeronautical Ad Hoc networks environment and its performance is better than AODV protocol.However

when the velocities of aircrafts increase

the performance of GPSR protocol decreases

and it can not meet the requirement of the highly-dynamic aeronautical communication.Therefore

some schemes in GPSR protocol

such as the periodic HELLO scheme

greedy forwarding scheme

etc

must be improved.
