Aiming at the problem of the length selection of former straight pipe when straight pipe installing is impossible
the adaptability of DN100 four-path ultrasonic flowmeter for upstream installation of DN150 to DN100 reducer and straight pipe is studied from numerical simulation
flow field analysis and error analysis. The distribution characteristics of pipeline flow field under different conditions of installation is showed by numerical simulation which indicates the absolute value of measurement error will increase with the length of former straight pipe decrease.According to numerical simulation
to ensure the measurement error is within ±0.5 %
the length of former straight pipe should be more than 4D under the installation of DN150 change to DN100 reducer and 8D under the installation of straight pipe.
