Gold Nanorods have been widely used in biomedical field
due to their unique optical properties and excellent biocompatibilities.Eight different aspect ratios(AR)gold nanorods which own different longitudinal surface plasmon resonance modes is described.Gold nanorods are prepared with the seed-mediated growth method with various concentration of benzyldimethylhexadecylammonium chloride(BDAC).While target DNA is added to the mixed buffer of nonmodified gold nanorods and label-free probe DNA with high ionic strength
the"blue-shifted"of gold nanorods’SPR modes can be detected immediately
and obvious absorbance deductions are observed. This method shows high sensitivity which allows detection of target DNA at a concentration as low as nanomolar range.
