A dual-hop multiple-input and multiple-output(MIMO)wireless sensor networks of fixed-gain amplify-and-forward(AF)is studied. To reduce complexity of transmitting and receiving link
antenna selection strategy based on signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) maximize is employed at all nodes.New closed-form expressions for outage probability and average bit error rate(BER)are derived. The diversity order number of the system are analyzed theoretically. Results of computer simulations are compared with the theoretical derivation and it is confirmed that fixed-gain AF is an optional lower complexity strategy in wireless sensor networks.
