The electric power steering(EPS)system employs the battery as energy source and motor as actuator
the design of the automotive EPS control system is the critical step to improve the EPS performance and the motor efficiency. The EPS system has hybrid characteristics and has assist condition
return-to-centre condition and damping condition. The hybrid control framework and the switched controller were established. For assist condition
dual-mode controller consists of Bang-bang controller and variable parameters’s double-fuzzy controller is adopted. For return-to-center condition
PID controller is adopted. For damping condition
the motor’s terminal voltage is short circuit to get reverse torque. The vehicle test system is established
the steering handle tests and the return-to-center control tests are operated. The hybrid control of EPS system working conditions can be fully reflected
the performance and control effect are optimized
the manipulation safety is enhanced and the motor’s work efficiency and energy conservation and environmental protection capacity are improved.
