Abstract
To meet the finger force measurement in the experiment of magnetoencephalography(MEG)or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)
a force sensor resistor(FSR)-based finger force detection apparatus was designed.A custom-made polycarbonate substrate was used to transfer finger force to the deformation of FSR cell mechanically
and a constant-current source circuit was adopted to transduce the resistance changes of FSR into voltage signal.USB6008 interface card and LabVIEW were combined to acquire and display the digitized finger force signal in real-time.The apparatus was tested and characterized in static and dynamic conditions. The experiment results revealed that the relationship between pressure
and output voltage approximated an exponential curve.Within the range of 0
1
5 N
the absolute error was less than 0.5 N and the relative error was less than 10 %
respectively;the absolute error and relative error in the dynamic testing mainly ranged of 0
2
N and 2 %
8
% respectively. The testing results indicated that our proposed finger force detection apparatus had good performance in both static and dynamic conditions
and could meet the requirements of finger force detection in MEG or MRI experiment.
