In order to verify the feasibility that fiber-optic temperature sensor used for contact temperature measurement
the geometric structure of contact is studied
and with heat transfer theory
the software COMSOL Multiphysics is used to simulate contact temperature. In both conditions of rated current and rated short-circuit current
the distribution of contact temperature is calculated.Simulation result shows that the figure of contact is the best position for contact temperature measurement
and the maximum temperature of contact is 564℃ when short-circuit current flows. Then
the problems of fiber-optic temperature sensor installation
measurement range and strain interference are analyzed
which provs that fiber-optic temperature sensor can be used for contact temperature measurement.
