Because of the limited energy

communication and computation capability of sensor nodes

a routing protocol based on clustering in wireless sensor networks（WSNs）is proposed to increase the energy efficiency and prolong lifetime of the WSNs.A data delivery based on the minimum cost routing which apply in the cluster is proposed.In addition

it assumes that the inter-cluster communication data in a multi-hop manner is sent to the designated node

it then sends the gathered data by the whole network to the base station.Simulation results shown that compared with leach protocol

the protocol can lead to the increase of sensor network lifetime by 500 %.Moreover

the protocol increase the balance of energy dissipation

scalability and reliability of WSNs.
