Acoustic field of various ultrasonic probes is analyzed
the most suitable probes are selected to detect oil pipelines. The effects of tilt on the detection results
between two types of ultrasonic probes
are also compared thoroughly.Focusing distance calculation formulas in the oil and in the pipeline are deduced from the principles of geometrical acoustics. The influence of temperature
curvature radius of lens and the thickness of oil on ultrasonic field is analyzed. To detect the oil pipeline with inside diameters of 297 mm and wall thick of 14 mm
the results of theoretic calculation demonstrate that the probe with curvature radius of 180 mm and 25 mm thick oil is the most suitable one. Also the practical detection proves that the thicker the oil is
