As a fresh blood to the unmanned air vehicle(UAV) family
micro air vehicle(MAV) is restrict to the mass
package size
power requirements and capability of its sensors.It is almost impossible to design MAV with good flying performance using conventional sensors.Researchers have designed some biomimetic sensors based on the insect sensing mechanic.The current status of research and development of biomimetic sensors especially the optic flow sensor is reviewed
the main technical difficulties of biomimetic sensing are analyzed
and the future appliance of biomimetic sensor in the control of MAV is discussed in the present paper.
