Due to the edge effect of the inductive plate capacitor
the distortion of the power line is caused during measurement
and the performance parameters such as sensitivity
linearity and range are affected. An alternating electric field sensor structure of a printed circuit board(PCB) plate capacitor with an equipotential ring is proposed. The structural parameters of the electric field sensing unit with an equipotential ring are optimized and analyzed by simulation
and the electric field distortion caused by the edge effect of the plate capacitor is reduced.Performance test on sensor is carried out
according to the power frequency electric field measurement standard. The results show that the equipotential ring structure avoids the edge effect of the plate. Finally
by properly arranging the integral sampling capacitor
the linearity of the inductive sensing unit can reach 1.602 5 % and the voltage sensitivity coefficient reaches 248 mV/(kV/m).The designed electric field sensor meets the requirements of near-electrical early warning measurements.
