Aiming at the problem of low synchronization precision in vibration monitoring of wireless sensor networks( WSNs)
an improved time-sync protocol for sensor network( TPSN) based on the hardware capture mechanism of the start of frame delimiter( SFD) is proposed. The design uses hardware to capture time stamps to eliminate some software delay factors such as send delay
access delay and receive delay
and uses least squares to estimate and compensate for clock drift while compensating for clock skew. In order to verify the feasibility of the algorithm
a chain topology is selected to perform single-hop and multi-hop synchronization tests on the CC2530 hardware platform. The test results show that the single hop error is 0. 727
μs
the 2-ho
p error is 2. 65
μs
and the3-hop error is 6. 833
μs
. Compared with typical bidirectional paired time synchronization algorithm i. e. TPSN
it has better synchronization effect and can meet the needs of vibration monitoring applications.
