Aiming at the problem that in induction motor traction drive system
the presence of speed sensor can significantly reduce system reliability and increase system cost
a speed sensorless vector control technology based on sliding mode observer is proposed for induction motor traction drive system. A state space model for induction motor is established
sliding surface is selected to obtain the model for induction motor based on the sliding mode observer. Estimated velocity is obtained by the Popov’s superstability theory. Performance of the method under study is verified by simulation.
