The system detects the position of the vehicle on the road in realtime by installing multiple geomagnetic sensors under the road surface. The geomagnetic sensor and the microprocessor are integrated into signal processing module. The signal processing module collects the geomagnetic sensor data and transmits the data to data processing module after filtering. The data processing module analyzes and calculates to obtain position of the vehicle by change of the geomagnetic sensor data when the vehicle is passing the road surface. Through curve fitting of the measured data
get the relationship between the vehicle position and sensor difference
and then the position of the vehicle is derived
the precision of the two axle can achieve 10 cm. In addition
the system can measure the speed and heading of the vehicle and is expected to be used for autonomous driving on smart highway.
