In order to meet the needs of human body localization in home environment
an indoor human body localization method based on inertial measurement unit( IMU) and infrared sensor network is proposed. The IMU is attached to human body to obtain motion data and an improved pedestrian dead reckoning( PDR) algorithm is used to realize basic navigation localization. An infrared sensor network is used to observe data
fuse indoor map information to help reducing the median error of localization. The whole positioning process is realized by using particle filtering algorithm fused with two parts of data source. Experiments show that the the improved PDR algorithm and indoor human body positioning method can reach better application effect.
