On the basis of analysis on wireless sensor networks（ WSNs） temporal correlation model

a dynamic sampling strategy for WSNs based on sensing grid is proposed. The monitoring area is divided into multiple sensing grid

only cluster head node within grid remain active

when there is abnormal data

activate other nodes in sensing grid to obtain more detail information. By reducing the same or similar sampling data uploaded between WSNs nodes

the strategy can reduce the transmission of redundant information. Simulation results demonstrate that this strategy significantly improves energy efficiency of WSNs.
