Damping coefficient of gravity sensor full of damping liquid is affected by two factors
which are viscosity of damping liquid and inner structure of sensor. A method for measuring damping coefficient is studied.Relationship between damping coefficient and inner structure of sensor is analyzed
working principle model for sensor is given
function relational expression for amplitude of mass of sensor is deducted. Several curves of amplitude-frequency with different damping coefficients are plotted by experiments
which are applying different external source signals on torque coil and measuring the amplitude signals of mass of sensor. So value of damping coefficient is obtained by comparing the experimental curves with theoretical curves. Test results show that this method can effectively measure damping coefficient of gravity sensor full of different damping liquid
and that provide references for choosing viscosity of damping liquid and designing control circuit.
