Aiming at problem of low localization precision of centroid localization algorithm for WSNs

complex calculations and large amount of data communication of general improved centroid algorithm

present a new centroid localization algorithm

region partition centroid localization（RPCL） algorithm.In RPCL

three anchors which near the unknown node enclose a triangle

divides the triangle to seven regions

the centroid of every region as the estimated location of unknown node.Simulation results show that RPCL outperforms centroid localization algorithm by an average less than 20%in average localization error;the error is reduced to about 49%after parameter optimizing.
