With the increasing penetration of renewable energy
the transient stability of offshore wind power flexible DC converter valves under large disturbances in weak grids is an increasingly a critical issue.Based on power grid fault identification technology utilizing voltage sensor signal perception
a fault feature-driven grid-forming control method is proposed in this paper to achieve transient stability of grid-forming converter valves.By acquiring signals such as grid voltage
converter output current
and DC bus voltage via voltage and current sensors
a fault feature-driven optimization model for grid-forming control is established. The equal area criterion is employed to analyze transient power angle stability and its influencing factors. The conventional virtual synchronous generator (VSG) strategy is improved.Consequently
the system’s transient stability under large disturbances in weak grids is enhanced. No extra intrusive sensors are required for the proposed method
and online monitoring and active improvement of converter valve transient stability can be realized.Simulation results demonstrate that under the improved VSG control strategy
the converter valve can operate stably and its transient stability is enhanced.
