In the current closed-loop control mode of large sky area multi-object fiber spectroscopy telescope(LAMOST)
the start-stop error of each unit affects the positioning precision. To improve precision and efficiency
a positioning control method that adjusts the remaining steps of the unit in real time is proposed. This approach measures the distance between the current position and the target position of the unit in real time
and adjusts the operating speed and remaining steps of the unit.It ensures the unit moves steadily to the target position and improves positioning precision and efficiency. To meet the real-time requirements of image processing for the new closed-loop control method
an optical positioning control system based on the Zynq platform is designed. The image processing algorithm is deployed on the field programmable gate array (FPGA) for hardware acceleration using a high-level synthesis design method. To verify the fiber positioning control algorithm and system
positioning experiments are conducted. The results show that the positioner meets the precision requirement of 10μm root mean square error (RMSE) at 100% of the target positions
and the positioning time is reduced to 17% of that of the current methods.
