The sorting of rare particle and cell is widely used in biology and medicine.Currently
most sorting methods use two sets of devices to enrich and sort targets separately
which often leads to cross-contamination.This study presents a novel microfluidic sorting system that employs piezoelectric microvalve cyclic sorting technology to achieve both target enrichment and precise sorting sequentially. In a single enrichment experiment using a solution of mixed 15μm and 7μm polystyrene beads
the enrichment recovery rate of 15μm particles is 83.1%
with an enrichment purity of 19.4%
and actual sorting throughput is approximately 1042 particles per second.Following cyclic sorting
the recovery rate of 15μm particles is increased to 72%
and the sorting purity is improved to 91.1%.This system provides a new method for enrichment and sorting of rare targets with high recovery rates and enrichment purity
effectively avoiding cross-contamination.It holds broad prospects for applications in single-cell analysis and research.
