A wearable motion ventilation sensing and monitoring system based on impedance pneumography(IP) theory is proposed to address the demand respiratory airflow monitoring in exercise scenarios. In the sensing part
a composite tetrapolar configuration and an integrated analog demodulation front-end are adopted to achieve lightweight and stable measurement of the thoracic impedance signal. In the signal processing part
based on variational mode decomposition(VMD)effective respiratory components are adaptively extracted from disturbed TI signal. To verify the precision of system ventilation monitoring
the system is applied to monitor respiration in pedaling scenario
and the results are compared with the standard flowmeter method. The results show that the system can measure the ventilation volume with high precision
and can meet the needs of dynamic respiratory monitoring in physical health care and clinical cardiopulmonary exercise test.
