To address the stringent requirements of high response speed and wide control bandwidth for beam tracking in laser communication
a fast steering mirror(FSM)position tracking method based on model reference adaptive control(MRAC)is investigated.By establishing a model of the voice coil motor-driven FSM
a reference model with no overshoot and large bandwidth is designed
and the adaptive law is derived based on Lyapunov stability theory
which ensures the dynamic tracking capability of the system. The results show that in step response
the MRAC settling time is 0.88ms
which is 45.3% shorter than that of PID control with the same bandwidth
and both methods have no overshoot. In the 300Hz sinusoidal tracking
MRAC achieves a phase delay of 31.3° and an amplitude error of 11%
which are both superior to those of PID control. In the simulated scanning working conditions
the speed-stabilization time of MRAC is 2.8ms
which is 38% shorter than that of PID.Therefore
the proposed method effectively addresses the high-dynamic tracking challenges of FSM in laser communication applications
with the advantages of fast response speed and wide tracking bandwidth.Meanwhile
the adaptive law derived through theoretical deduction reduces the complexity of parameter tuning
demonstrating good prospects for engineering application.
