Flexible pressure sensors are widely used in health monitoring
robot sensing and shape recognition due to their good mechanical flexibility and wearability. In this study
five sensors are made using carbon black(CB)and multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)in different coating sequences on polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)sponge as the skeleton. Then
the piezoresistive performance is studied
and it is found that the performance of the sensors with different composite sequences is significantly different.Among all the samples
the CB+MWCNTs@PDMS(where
CB is first wrapped on the PDMS sponge
followed by the wrappin
g of MWCNTs)sensor has the highest sensitivity
with a maximum sensitivity of 14.61kPa
-1
.At the same time
the sensor also has a fast response time of 320ms
an instantaneous recovery time of 230ms
a detection range of 0~70kPa and a stability of more than 2000 cycles. It can maintain stable performance at 10~50℃ and 40%~80%RH.The sensor is applied to end-effector
showing its great potential in industrial and agricultural fields.
